Pimlico House

Refurbishment of a London townhouse
Project Goal
The refurbishment of a five storey town house in Pimlico. The building is separated into a two bedroom apartment in the basement and a four bedroom family home above.
Summary
The main strategy of the scheme was to move the original staircase into the rear closet wing. By removing small and unusable rooms on the half landings of the close wings, the floor plates of main portion of the house could be freed up. Increased useable space allowed for rooms of better proportion, which suited this type of property. Interiors were done to a developers specification with the potential that if the type of tenancy should change, the kitchens, bathrooms and floor finishes can be removed and upgraded without affecting the overall fabric of the property.
